Experience at BAe Business Investment Controller British Aerospace Headquarters Managed investment and planning control activities. Fully involved in all central finance tasks including reporting and cash management. Responsible for financial management for several major projects and corporate finance activities. Key Achievements Provided financial control of the corporate restructuring programme releasing £1bn of development land value to finance group restructuring. Responsible for key elements (production of Information Memoranda and Stock Exchange notices, associated due diligence activities, parts of working capital forecasts at time of Rights Issue, disposal of Rover, Ballast Needam etc.) of the 1993-5 corporate restructuring programme. Personally involved (marketing, valuation and negotiation) in selling Hamble Aerostructures (£40m), Corporate Jets (£350m), and closure of Commercial Aircraft business (£1bn cost). Principal financial member of the bid team for Vickers Shipbuilders, with responsibility for valuation, due diligence, and submission to the MMC on competitive bids by BAe & GEC. Operational Roles British Aerospace Dynamics Group / Division Various roles within the division with increasing levels of responsibility providing broad experience and management of 40 - 120 staff. Divisional Finance Manager post was Management Committee role for site with £400m turnover and 6,000 staff key achievements Coordinated multi-disciplinary project teams reviewing procedures within Engineering Directorate eliminating 6 months development time on each of two 18 month development programmes. Negotiated with the MoD and other significant clients to deliver profitable contracts. Selected and implemented a number of significant replacement financial systems, developed new costing systems. Restructured finance functions providing improved quality of reporting using smaller teams. |
